New Victorian Stealth Dealer - Sea Sherpa

Posted by Dennis Tocknell on

Australian Kayak Specialists would like to welcome Eoin from Sea Sherpa as our Victorian based Dealer for all things Stealth.

Sea Sherpa have released the following:

"Some of you already know about my latest project but now is probably as good a time as any to come clean for those that don't!

Sea Sherpa is my new kayak venture based down here in Melbourne. The short version is that with the help of wifey to do all the legal stuff, and picking the brain of Dennis T with a million questions, I've decided to turn how I spend my spare time into a business! For now it will just be part time, but we'll see how things go.

We are hoping to have something to offer newbies and seasoned salties alike; here's a quick run-down of what we do:

Stealth Dealer – demo and supply of Stealth fishing skis, accessories & Lockrack products
Paddle Lessons - adults and kids (after school and school holiday programs)
Safety Courses - beginner/intermediate/offshore
Kayak Fishing Basics - soft plastics/bait fishing using running sinker rigs/catching and rigging livies

Sea Sherpa are a partner of Australian Kayak Specialists, the master distributor for Stealth kayaks in Australia and the Pacific Islands. We are your new Victorian dealer for all things Stealth. That's great news for those keen to get into glass but didn't want to buy without being able to touch & feel or paddle the yak. So if you are looking to get yourself into the best fishing ski on the market or need a part or accessory for your ski, we can help. We can arrange a demo so you can see what you’ve been missing out on.

Also, stay tuned for details on a big Portland weekend in January for kingy season!

I'm currently undergoing certification as a kayak guide/instructor with Australian Canoeing and will offer a range of kayak fishing tours and lessons designed to help you chase new target species or simply build up some confidence in a new environment. Whether you are new to fishing altogether, or are looking to broaden your existing fishing horizons we can help. We offer soft plastics and squid sessions, gummy and snapper sessions and offshore sessions to get you out in some swell to cover the ins and outs of sabikis and finding new uses for dental floss.

We also offer a range of paddling courses to new kayakers and juniors (local grade 5 and 6 students). These sessions covering basic paddle strokes and manoeuvrability and safety procedures as well as emergency communications. The Junior Paddler's Club will run in the arvo after school and we will also offer school holiday programs.

For the more experienced kayakers and those looking to venture offshore, Sea Sherpa offers in depth safety courses covering rescues, tows, equipment and dressing for Southern winter conditions. We are applying to become an RTO and hope to soon offer VHF licence testing to help yakkers attain their Australian Waters Radio Qualification (AWQ).

If you are looking at getting into kayaking and want help to navigate the new or second-hand market to make a purchase, Sea Sherpa can provide helpful advice to get you into the right boat for what you want to do. We can help you work through the pros and cons of various models and we can even come along with you when you make the big purchase; think of it as an RACV inspection for a yak! Get in touch to see what we can do for you!

It is an exciting time at the moment, I've got paper work coming out my ears and kayak instructor certification to study up for, but it has been a great experience so far. The official opening will be in September and I'll post more info as we go, but I figured it was time to let the cat out of the bag. The website is located here https://seasherpa.com.au/ if you want to get on and have a look alternatively you can click on the link in my signature. We are also on Facebook, Instagram, Google+ and Youtube if you would like to follow us; the links are on the bottom of the webpage.
Tight lines all,"

We are keen to work with Eoin and expand the Stealth Brand in Victoria.
